Description & Inspiration
Part of the Utopia series, this artwork features a subject swimming in the blue waters surrounding Elba Island, one of the beautiful areas off the west coast of Italy, and where Napoleon was exiled for the first time. The Island itself is depicted in the second frame, on the right, along with a large marine being swimming through the currents as the sun sets. The third frame, at the bottom left, shows the calm waves rolling in, with the moonlight shining through.
